We Are Lutherhaven

Lutherhaven & COVID-19 Update

As Lutherhaven journeys with our entire world thru this defining moment for all of us, we want you to know that the Lutherhaven staff is lifting all of you up in prayer. We know our friends, families, congregations, and communities have a lot of moving puzzle pieces that are being shuffled moment by moment, so know that we are praying for health. Praying for patience. Praying for wisdom, strength and guidance.

In order to be a part of our global public health solution, we are working together with those all around our world to reduce coronavirus transmission, and have canceled all camp and retreat guest groups and programs through mid-May. We will keep you posted of our plans beyond next month, as we know better.

We invite you to register campers for their favorite summer programs, and we are not requiring any deposit at this time. Your camper will be automatically wait-listed for your camp program on a first come-first served basis. As soon as we have direction on summer programs from our regional health district, we will contact you to get you officially signed up for camp!

Here are our priorities:

  • Trust God and value people.
  • Promote health, remain hopeful, build strength, and work together.
  • Keep full-time staff employed as best we are able. We are committed to doing everything possible to support them.
  • Maintain 30-days of operating cash on hand at all times.
  • Regular communication with our regional health district, the Board of Directors, and Lutherhaven’s remarkable team of legal, medical, financial, and national outdoor ministry advisers.
  • Pray for the best while making solid 1 year and 18-month contingency plans to ensure Lutherhaven thrives on the other side of COVID-19.

We also want to create a spirit of encouragement and wise choices with our guests, camper families, volunteers, and donors during this time of uncertainty, so please do not hesitate to contact camp with questions, thoughts, concerns, or just how you are doing, and we will respond as early as possible. Find updates and fun encouragement on our Facebook page.

Finally, as Lutherhaven continues to work closely with camp and community leaders so that timely and accurate information can guide appropriate responses specific to our communities and campers, we want to remind you we are confident that, with God at our helm, the outcome is secure.

God is our refuge and strength, an ever present heap in trouble. Therefore we will not fear, even though…” Psalm 43

Your servant in Jesus,

Bob Baker, Executive Director
