Building Youth Groups (BYG)

BYG is a fun filled weekend designed to help your youth group grow together in community and faith!

It doesn’t matter what size your youth group is, BYG is just right for building faith that sticks with your crew (click here to see research on sticky faith). This weekend is designed especially for Middle School youth groups (6th-9th grade) to dream, plan, talk, learn, grow, reflect and have fun together!

Bring your 6th-9th graders to Lutherhaven for BYG, a fun community-building camp experience.

Our BYG weekend includes youth groups from several churches. Whether you have three or thirty, your group will have fun interacting with others during our winter camp activities.

The goal of the weekend is to help youth groups grow together though:

  • Fun games and experiences (plus, fingers crossed…snow fun!)
  • Worship, teaching, devotions, and prayer
  • Small group discussions facilitated by our speaker

Covid-19 Safety Protocols

  • All guests are required to wear face masks when indoors except when eating and sleeping, and outdoors when social distancing of 6 feet cannot be maintained.
  • Each cabin/room is limited to one congregation per space, where people will only share lodging with others from their home congregation.
  • Anyone not feeling well or at higher risk should remain at home.
  • All guests will complete a health screening upon arrival.

January 22-24 Speaker: Pastor Phil Misner

Lutherhaven is delighted to welcome Rev. Phil Misner, assistant to Bishop Rev. Kristen Kuempel of the Northwest Intermountain Synod as the speaker for our January 22-24 Building Youth Groups retreat. Prior to being the assistant to the bishop, Phil Misner served the congregations of Peace Lutheran and Trinity Lutheran in Colfax and Endicott for almost eight years. Phil has been one of the key organizers for the Confirmation Project, a monthly partnership between NWIMS and Lutherhaven Ministries, where confirmation aged youth from the greater Idaho Panhandle and Spokane region come together for fellowship, serice, and confirmation-based Bible teachings. Phil has been a long time camp person and we are delighted to have him as the speaker for this retreat!
