Outdoor Education for Homeschool Groups!

Lutherhaven Ministries is committed to helping Home School families! We are passionate about finding common ground in education -- joining you in the journey to form values and character in your child.

When you contract an Outdoor Education Session with Lutherhaven Ministries, you step into a partnership with leaders and teacher/naturalists who believe each child is precious and part of a unique family. Get your Home School Network together and come on out to camp!

During campfires, this integration of faith and learning continues when teacher/naturalists share from their own experiences. Students are challenged to grow in their relationship with Christ.

And there’s more!  With engaging, hands-on sessions and knowledgeable instructors, you’d better believe students walk away from an Outdoor Education experience with us understanding our environment better.  And still more!  They’re equipped with skills in communication, group dynamics, math, science, and goal-setting.

How does all this happen in a two or three-day session? We believe it takes more than a great site on a lake or river (even though we’ve got both!) It’s about caring and skilled instructors connecting with students where they are, challenging each one to reach his or her potential.

Check out the brief descriptions below, or contact us to book your Outdoor Education session (includes tailor-made group-building). Join us in pursuing our goal of No Child Left Inside!

Winter

Tubing down frosty hills, looking at crystals under magnifying glasses, strapping on a pair of snowshoes for the first time, tracking animals in the snow, drinking cocoa by the fire and laughing over a silly skit ... all this and so much more occurs during Winter Outdoor Education season (late January and all of February) at our site on gorgeous Lake Coeur d’Alene.

Spring

Looking at bugs in Shoshone Creek, digging fingers into a thick coyote pelt, learning to build a fire and survive in the woods, following a course with only your compass and brains, jumping into a team-building challenge, laughing and roasting s’mores around the campfire ... all this and so much more occurs during the Spring Outdoor Education Season (late April and all of May) at our site 29 miles up the North Fork of the Coeur d’Alene River in the Bitterroot Mountains of Idaho, and at our Coeur d'Alene Lake location.

Fall

Jump start team-building with your new classroom of students ~~ a great way to kick off the school year! Join us for all the usual Outdoor Education activities, PLUS sessions tailor-made for “get-to-know-you” group-building! The creek is low in the fall and makes for a great stream study. Watch the leaves turn from green to gold, adopt a tree and learn its age and character, laugh and roast s’mores around the campfire ... all this and so much more describes our Fall Outdoor Education Season (September and October) at our site 29 miles up the North Fork of the Coeur d’Alene River in the Bitterroot Mountains of Idaho and at Camp Lutherhaven, our facility on Lake Coeur d'Alene.
