Who we Are
Lutherhaven Ministries is Camp Lutherhaven, Shoshone Base Camp, Idaho Servant Adventures, Shoshone Creek Ranch, and Lutherhaven Day Camps. Our vision for programming is to nurture Christian faith, equip leaders, strengthen communities and celebrate the beauty of God's creation!
CAMP LUTHERHAVEN
Lutherhaven Ministries operates two distinct camp facilities but most of our summer staff work out of Camp Lutherhaven. Lutherhaven sits on the shores of Lake Coeur d' Alene in the panhandle of North Idaho on 60 beautiful acres of timbered hillsides. Lutherhaven has a great beach and waterfront, a homestead mountain village, tee pees, tree houses, cabins and lodge space for 200, a 30-element high and low rope challenge course with climbing tower and zip-line, Frisbee golf, and plenty more! Lutherhaven's a tremendous place to share the grace and love of Jesus!
SHOSHONE BASE CAMP
Shoshone Base Camp is located in the heart of the Idaho Panhandle National Forest near the Montana border at the juncture of the Coeur d' Alene River and Shoshone Creek. It’s our base for Idaho Servant Adventures and our new Shoshone Creek Ranch, as well as some kids and family camp programs.
IDAHO SERVANT ADVENTURES
ISA brings hundreds of youth from throughout the nation to north Idaho for community service and outreach. In the last three years alone these dedicated servants have given more than 21,000 hours of volunteer service to our region’s needy.
SHOSHONE CREEK RANCH
Shoshone Creek Ranch is our new Shoshone-based horseback trail riding program, still in development, that gives campers a genuine western dude ranch experience.
LUTHERHAVEN DAY CAMPS
Each summer Lutherhaven Ministries leads approximately 35 Day Camps at regional churches in Washington, Idaho, and Oregon. Teams of up to 4 counselors travel from camp to facilitate week-long camps in collaboration with our church partners. Through our Day Camps alone over 1,900 youth are served each summer! Day Camp is a huge part of our ministry and each summer staff’s experience; most counseling staff get the chance to lead two or three Day Camps each season.
PROGRAMS
We offer programs for campers of all ages: on-site programs for first graders through seniors in high school; off-site adventure camps for older youth; two Outpost Village camps that send kids to Tree house or Homestead Village; plus a variety of family and adult camps and programs for campers with disabilities.
POSITIONS AVAILABLE
Lutherhaven Ministries hires approximately 65 college-aged staff—approximately 30 counselors, 3 to 4 Day Camp Team Coordinators, 2 or 3 Adventure Leaders, 3 or 4 Assistant Cooks, 4 to 6 Support Staff, 4 lifeguards, a camp Medic, a Waterfront Area Specialist, an Arts and Crafts Area Specialist, a Junior Staff Area Specialist, 2 Leaders-in-Training (this year called 4:One) counselors, and other random program and support positions. Shoshone Base Camp positions primarily serve Idaho Servant Adventures, although there are some weeks of traditional camp programming, too, as well as key rental groups to host and program.

APPLICATIONS
Together with other nationwide Lutheran camps, Lutherhaven Ministries recruits camp staff through the National Lutheran Outdoor Ministry Association (NLOMA). On your application you'll choose your first and second choice camps to work at and/or pick a region of the country where you might be interested in working for the summer. (If you want to apply solely to Lutherhaven, simply write "Lutherhaven, Idaho" where it asks for your first choice camp). Working together with other camps helps you find the camp to best serve for the summer.
You can find other Lutheran camps through the National Lutheran Outdoors Ministry Association (NLOMA) or the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA)/Lutheran Outdoor Ministry (LOM). We typically get more applications than we can hire, so all of our applications go through the national recruiting process to maximize your job possibilities. We appreciate you applying to work here but we also encourage you to explore other possibilities in outdoor ministries around the country. There are lots of wonderful opportunities!
