We’re A Pan-Lutheran Outdoor Ministry…

…serving Lutheran and other congregations in Idaho, Washington and Oregon and from around the nation.

Our ministries include:

Camp Lutherhaven

Lutherhaven Ministries operates two distinct camp facilities but most of our summer staff work out of Camp Lutherhaven. Lutherhaven sits on the shores of Lake Coeur d’Alene in the panhandle of North Idaho on 60 beautiful acres of timbered hillsides. Lutherhaven has a great beach and waterfront, a homestead mountain village, tree houses, cabins and lodge space for 200, a 30-element high and low rope challenge course with climbing tower and zip-line, Frisbee golf, and plenty more! Lutherhaven’s a tremendous place to share the grace and love of Jesus!

Shoshone Mountain Retreat

Shoshone Mountain Retreat is located in the heart of the Idaho Panhandle National Forest near the Montana border at the juncture of the Coeur d’Alene River and Shoshone Creek. It’s our base for Idaho Servant Adventures and our new Shoshone Creek Ranch, as well as some kids and family camp programs.

Idaho Servant Adventures

ISA brings hundreds of youth from throughout the nation to north Idaho for community service and outreach. In the past 8 years, almost 4,000 participants from across the country have served the needy more than 61,000 hours in a variety of ways. 5,000 lives have been impacted. Jobs with ISA are especially significant for applicants interested in community outreach, service and development and outdoor recreation.

Shoshone Creek Ranch

Shoshone Creek Ranch is our new Shoshone-based horseback trail riding program, still in development, that gives campers a genuine western dude ranch experience.

Lutherhaven Day Camps

Each summer Lutherhaven Ministries leads approximately 25 Day Camps at regional churches in Washington, Idaho, and Oregon. Teams of up to 4 counselors travel from camp to facilitate week-long camps in collaboration with our church partners. Through our Day Camps alone over 1,900 youth are served each summer! Day Camp is a huge part of our ministry and each summer staff’s experience; most counseling staff get the chance to lead three or four Day Camps each season.

Our Mission

Encounter Creation, Create Community, Commune with Christ!

Our Core Values Stem From Ephesians 2:8-10

“We believe it is by God’s love we are saved through faith – not because of anything we have done, but as a gift of God, not by works, so that no one can boast. For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.”

In Response We Value…

Jesus…

as the foundation of all our being, activities, events, programs, and opportunities to embody his love.

Faith Formation…

rooted in the Lutheran tradition, sharing God’s love in ways relevant in our world right now.

People…

all called into a safe, joy-filled, nurturing faith community.

Relationships…

rooted in Jesus’ love as we partner with people, congregations, and communities and organizations.

Service…

as a way we extend the breadth and depth of God’s love through hospitality, outreach, and leadership-centered programs.

Caring…

for God-given gifts and resources.

The Outdoors…

cared for, appreciated, and explored.

Abundant Life…

filled with recreation, laughter, and play.

God’s Word…

as the living, active means by which God calls us to faith and forms us as God’s people.

Summer Programs

We offer programs for campers of all ages: on-site programs for first graders through seniors in high school; off-site adventure camps for older youth; two Outpost Village camps that send kids to Tree house or Homestead Village; plus a variety of family and adult camps and programs for campers with disabilities.
