CAMP LUTHERHAVEN Lutherhaven Ministries operates two camp facilities, but the majority of Summer Staff opportunities occur at Camp Lutherhaven. Lutherhaven sits on the shores of Lake Coeur d'alene in the panhandle of north Idaho on 60 beautiful acres of wooded hillsides. We've got a great beach and waterfront, a homestead mountain village, tee pees, tree houses, cabins and lodge space for 200, a 30 element high and low rope challenge course, climbing tower, zip-line, BLOB ... Lutherhaven's a tremendous place to share the love of Jesus!
SHOSHONE BASE CAMP Shoshone Base Camp is located in the heart of the Idaho Panhandle National Forest near the border of Montana, our base camp for high school servant events, some offsite camping adventures, and many family camp programs. Shoshone sits on the juncture of the Coeur d' Alene River and Shoshone Creek.
LUTHERHAVEN DAY CAMPS Each summer Lutherhaven Ministries leads approximately 35 Day Camps at regional churches in Washington, Idaho, and Oregon. Teams of up to 4 counselors travel from camp to facilitate week-long cams based from our church partners. Through Day Camps alone, over 1,900 youth are served each summer! Day Camp is a huge part of our ministry and our summer counseling experience; most counseling staff get to lead 2-3 or more Day Camps each season. |
PROGRAMS We offer programs for campers of all ages. We run on-site programs for first graders through seniors in high school; off-site adventure camps for older youth; two Outpost Village camps that send kids to Treehouse or Homestead Village; plus a variety of family and adult camps and programs for campers with disabilities. |
POSITIONS AVAILABLE Lutherhaven Ministries hires approximately 65 college aged and young adult staff. That breaks down to approximately 30 counselors, 3-4 Day Camp team leaders, 2-3 adventure leaders, 3-4 assistant cooks, 4-6 support staff, 4 lifeguards a camp medic, a Waterfront Director, a crafts coordinator, a Junior Staf Leader, 2 Leaders-in-Training counselors, and other random program and support staff positions. Shoshone Base Camp Postions include working with our new Idaho Servant Adventures. For more details, please see our general summary of positions available. |

APPLICATIONS Together with other nationwide Lutheran camps, Lutherhaven Ministries recruits camp staff during Joint Recruitment through the National Lutheran Outdoor Ministry Association (NLOMA). On your application you'll choose your first and second choice camps to work at and/or pick a region of the country where you might be interested in working for the summer. (If you want to apply solely to Lutherhaven, simply write "Lutherhaven, Idaho" where it asks for your first choice camp.) Working together with other camps helps you find a camp to best serve for the summer.
Find other Lutheran camps through the National Lutheran Outdoors Ministry Association or the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. We usually get more applications than we can hire, so all of our applications go through the national recruiting process to maximize yur jobpossibilities. We appreciate you applying to work here, but also encourage you to think of other possibilities in Outdoor Ministries across the country.
